When it comes to friends and penpals I'm a very lucky girl because I have the most amazing friends/penpals in the world! <3 :D

The first picture shows drawings that my Grenadian friend Carla who lives in Brooklyn now sent me! :D It's amazing that she spent so much time doing something especially for me, I appreciate that a lot! :D

The second picture shows what I got from my American friend Jonathan for my birthday! :D Gosh I LOVE this guy!! lol He definitely made my day because I wasn't expecting that at all! ^^ <3

Last two pictures...OMG!!! :D I was absolutely speechless when I opened the package I got from my wonderful Grenadian wifey Alisha :D It's not a secret that I love Grenada lol so this package put a HUGE smile on my face :D <3

Everytime I get a postcard it puts a big smile on my face! :D This week I got 5 so that means I had a reason to smile from Monday to Friday! lol Anyway, thanks to Ashley, Celeste and my darling Rami <3 ^^

PEOPLE DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND...

Recently I've had quite a few pointless arguments with some people...Apparently being an au pair is not considered a regular job. Most of my friends think all I have to do is play with the boys, pick them up from school and tidy up their rooms every once in a while...I WISH! You guys couldn't be more wrong...lol Not only do I have to look after the boys, I have to clean the whole house every day! Let me describe my normal Friday:

I have to get up at 7am.I go downstairs, take out stuff from the dishwasher, put everything in its place and prepare Jack's breakfast. Then I have to go upstairs and wake Jack up (Alan leaves for school at 7am so I don't have to worry about him in the morning). Every morning I try to avoid Nancy because she always has something to say ----> "Do you always turn the lights on before he wakes up?Don't do that, the light will shock his eyes...", "Today you should clean both bathrooms, they look rather dirty." (...it's not like I clean them every single day or anything -_-), "Did you wash your hands before touching Jack's food?" (No, I grew up in the jungle so I have no manners! -_-) <---- I think you get the idea. Anyway...After that I have to prepare Jack's uniform, I have to make sure he gets washed, brushes his teeth and gets dressed...Then I have like 10 minutes to get ready & pack Jack's lunch and after that I have to walk him to school. Thank God English people are so nice and friendly, for example this lady always says "Morning!" to me with a big smile on her face :D No matter what Nancy says in the morning my mood always gets better after seeing this cheerful lady ^^ When I get home I usually start with the kitchen.I have to put used plates and cups in the dishwasher, I have to wash the dishes that can't go in the dishwasher, I have to change the garbage bags, clean both fridges, clean the microwave oven, sweep the floor and clean it, make sure all paper wrappers or bottles go in recycling boxes and clean the window. Normally I'm finished around 10:30. Then I have to tidy up the dining room and dust all the bookshelves and units. Then I have to do the same in the living room. Nancy is Kenyan and she has a lot of souvenirs in the living room so dusting takes a while :P After that I do some ironing, it usually takes 2-3 hours -_- Then I have to hoover every room in the house and polish the floor. I also have to change garbage bags in every room and make sure everything looks tidy. Then it's time to clean both bathrooms...I have to clean every mirror and dust every shelf, clean the toilet, bath and the sink and put there clean towels...I also have to clean the stairs...When I'm done with all of that I usually take a shower, put some make up on my face (as fast as possible), dry my hair and get dressed. Jack's classes end at 4:15 BUT Alan doesn't have keys so I have to wait for him (he gets home between 4 and 4:15) and then I only have a few minutes to get to Jack's school...When we all get home I have to prepare a snack and make them change their clothes because Friday is the day when all uniforms need to be washed. Telling them to change their clothes is like talking to a wall...They just sit on the sofa and watch Simpsons or Family Guy T_T When Nancy gets home she starts cooking and I have to get the table ready for dinner. After dinner I have to help clean the kitchen and then I'm finally FREE! Well not really - on Sundays and Wednesdays I have to give Jack a bath which is always a challenge for me lol I always leave the bathroom with wet clothes and foam on my hair T_T lol Some days I have to go to the doctor to collect Ian's prescriptions or I have to go to the pharmacy and get what Ian needs. Sometimes they ask me to go to the shops and buy something (bagels, milk, juice...). Not every day is so busy (I "only" have to hoover on Mondays and Fridays) but I honestly have a lot of work to do around the house :/

What I'm trying to say is that it annoys me when my friends/penpals complain that I don't talk to them anymore...Gone are the days when I would spend 12 hours talking to someone on Skype...Gone are the days when I would stay up until 6am and talk to 15 people at the same time...I simply can't afford to do things like that anymore...Being an au pair IS a regular job and what's even worse ----> I have to live with my boss! lol I try to keep in touch with all of my friends and penpals but I can't just lie down and spend hours talking to people and hope Nancy won't notice that her house is all messy and her children have no clean shirts to wear to school...I hate when someone sends me hundreds of  messages on Skype ("Vendy? Vendula! Are you there? Vendy...We don't talk anymore :( Are you ignoring me?? Vendyyyy!...")...If you say hello and I don't write back then it obviously means I'm doing something else! I listen to music while cleaning the house so my laptop is always on BUT that doesn't mean that I'm free to talk o.O When I tell somebody "Sorry, I can't really talk right now because I'm busy" I often get "But I saw you updated your status on facebook and commented on this picture!"...There's a big difference between updating my status (which takes like 25 seconds!) and starting a conversation with somebody! I also do not appreciate when somebody randomly decides to call me in the middle of the night!! A few days ago I was downstairs watching the news and Jack (who was supposed to be asleep) came to the living room and said he couldn't sleep because somebody was trying to call me on Skype - 4 times! First of all - how about you try and say hello first? If I don't write back then I'm obviously not there or I'm busy. Second of all - I can never go on Skype after 9:30 and I said that many times before so why would you try to call me at 11 (4 times!!!) ?! I just don't get it >_<

I hope nobody takes this personally...It just sucks when I finally have some time to sit down and be on my computer and instead of having a nice conversation I have to keep apologizing and explaining why I didn't write back the other day or why I didn't pick up the phone o.O Try to be more understanding, try to be patient...I honestly miss talking to all of you and I wish I had more time to go on Skype and have silly conversations about everything and anything but I have to work. Imagine you would open your laptop in the middle of your class or working time and started talking to a friend on Skype...You would get kicked out / fired! I appreciate when someone sends me a message or starts talking to me first but try not to complain all the time & put too much pressure on me because that will only make me want to avoid conversations with you o.O *sigh*

BRIGHTON :)

I had lived in a small country in Central Europe for 20 years before I moved to London. Living in Central Europe basically means no sea, no beaches, no nothing! >_< lol So when I found out it takes only 50 minutes to get to Brighton (which is a city on the south coast of Great Britain) I was very excited! :D When Stéphanie asked if I wanted to go to Brighton I immediately said YES! ^^ Wait a minute...You don't know who Stéphanie is, do you?! :D Ok, let me tell you a few things about her first :)

One morning Jack and I were on our way to school and this random lady stopped us and said "Oh you're an au pair right?! Where are you from?!" lol Jack and I were both confused hahah I told her I was from the Czech Republic and she was like "Aww I thought you were French...I have a French au pair, you two should meet!" I didn't really know how to react to that so I just mumbled "Ok" and walked away hahah I know, it was kinda rude to just walk away but I didn't want Jack to be late for school! (I have an excuse for everything lol)...A few days after that I started seeing that girl and I really did want to start talking to her but I had no idea what to say ))) One day we were just awkwardly standing next to each other and I almost forced myself to say hello but...then I changed my mind I guess lol After like a week I saw her again and for some reason I just went straight to her and said "Hello, you're also an au pair right? :D" and she answered "Yes!" hahah At first it was kinda hard to keep a conversation going because she couldn't speak English very well and my French is really bad (I haven't practiced for months!) but eventually we became very good friends and we found a way to communicate ^^

Sooo on Sunday we bought our tickets and went to Brighton :) It didn't rain but it was quite cloudy and it was super windy!! The weather got better later that day though so that was good :) First we went to the beach, then we explored the Brighton Pier a little and then we went sightseeing ^^ It was a great day, I enjoyed every minute of it :D I almost dropped my phone in the ocean LOL but luckily I managed to catch it so YAY ME! ^^ Anyway, here are a few pictures:

CZECH BEER!

A few months ago I put up a picture of bottles of beer called "Czech", remember? :)

Well apparently "Czech" is a very popular name for beer here because I spotted some more bottles of beer called "Czech" ))) Maybe it's a sign and I should finally buy one! Who knows, maybe it's even better than original Czech beer! :D I doubt it though...lol

I apologize for being the worst blogger in the world!

...so 2 months have passed by since I last wrote something on my blog o.O Time flies! My plan was to write something every day but I failed horribly lol It was naive to think I could work as an au pair, live a normal life, write letters AND update my blog every single day lol Now I know that it's simply impossible and I'm not going to make the same mistake again ^^ I do want to keep blogging though, I think it's a great way of saving memories, sharing your ideas with other people and exploring your creativity ^_^ The thing is that I get distracted very easily so writing a post is always a challenge for me! ))) Anyway, let's hope I manage to update my blog at least once a week :P

Saturday was a wonderful day :D Debbie invited me to her friend's bbq (which took place in Basildon) so I was excited to go out and meet new people! Debbie was supposed to meet me at the London Bridge station (I had to take a tram to get to East Croydon and then I had to take a train to get to London Bridge)

 but she burned her brownies lol so when I got to London Bridge she was still home baking new brownies ))) We were talking on the phone and she told me to take the underground and go to West ham...I was scared to travel around London by myself but at the same time I knew it would take her at least two hours to pick me up and then we would have to go back to her house anyway so I decided to be brave and go to Basildon by myself lol When I got to West ham I was supposed to take a train to Basildon but unfortunately it wasn't working that day -__- Sooo I had to take the underground again and go to Stratford...Debbie wanted to meet me there but then she heard this voice in the background that said "The train to Basildon leaves in 2 minutes from platform 8" so she was like "Jump on that train Vendy, jump on that train!" lmao I was so scared because I didn't hear that voice in the background and I had no idea how she coud be so sure that it was the right train lol but I trusted her and I got on the train ))) It took quite a long time to get to Basildon and all I could see on the way there were trees and fields so that kinda made me nervous hahah but I got to Basildon eventually and Debbie was waiting there for me :D I was so proud of myself lol I honestly thought I was gonna end up somewhere in Scotland ))) Soooo then we had to buy something so we went to the center of Basildon...

It's not a big big city but it is quite nice :D We met some of Debbie's friends, when she introduced me to them ("This is my Czech penpal Vendy^^) her friend was like "Oh I want to go to the Czech Republic! What's the capital of it? Are Czech guys cute?" lol  Why would I live in England if my country was full of cute guys?! lol But yeah after that we went to Debbie's house and then we met 2 other girls (Delphine and Sharon) who were supposed to go to the bbq with us :)     I had to laugh when Sharon was like "I don't want to go to a bbq full of white people" and then she looked at me and said "Oh no offence!" lmao After a few minutes we decided to go to a pub instead ^^ We spent like 2 or 3 hours there and it was a lot of fun ))) I had tears in my eyes when Sharon was telling us a story about some racist guys she met at work, she was using random things she found on the table to represent each person ("This is gonna be me!" *Sharon grabs a little mayonnaise sachet* "Oh wait, that can't be right because it's white.." *Sharon grabs a brown looking sachet* "Ok, so this is me!" xDDDD)...I thought I was going to meet Debbie, spend a couple of hours at the bbq and then go home BUT the girls decided to take me to a club! ^^ 

First of all it was a pretty awesome club! lol It had 3 rooms and they played a different genre of music in each one :)  The girls and I spent most of the time in the room where they played r'n'b (...and also hiphop, dancehall, reggae, soca, reggaeton etc.), it was beyond amazing! :D When you go to a club in a small town in the Czech Republic they usually play d'n'b or dance music and most people go there just to get drunk -_- For some reason Czech people don't seem to enjoy dancing that much...Well some do but it's not like you get to a club and see everybody dancing on the dancefloor ^^ Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I had a great night and I can't wait to go clubbing with Debbie and the girls again! :D

April 3 - April 15,2011

I don't know how it happened but I haven't written anything for almost 2 weeks! o.O The boys don't have school until next Wednesday so I get very busy. Looking after 2 hyper kids and cleaning the house at the same time is quite overwhelming lol Well the last two weeks were good :) Nancy and I went shopping again so that was great :D I bought a shirt and a dress...Here are some professional mirror pictures lol

What else has happened? Hmm...I finally met some Czech people here!! lol I don't feel so lonely anymore *sigh* ^^ I met this old lady in Primark so we talked for a little while and then I met these two young guys in the underground :) 

One thing that really confused me was seeing a bottle of beer called Czech lol I mean why can't they just sell some typical Czech brands such as Svijany or Gambrinus? Why do they make their own beer and name it Czech?! lol I don't get it ))) I bet it tastes nothing like delicious Czech beer! :DD

Nancy and the boys went to Manchester for a few days so I stayed home with Ian...I thought I was going to be lazy and wake up at 1pm but I got a looong list of things I had to do so my plan didn't work out very well lol But like I always say - cleaning the whole house is a pretty good workout session so yaaay )))

Another thing that has changed is my "relationship status"...Unfortunately my boyfriend and I didn't have enough time for each other so we decided to break up...I didn't mind being in a long distance relationship...You don't have to see your partner everyday to be in love with them you know...But if you can't see each other AND you have no time to talk it can never work...So yeah...No more interracial love </3 *sigh*

Friday was alright...Before I walked Jack to school we made a few videos together ^^ I was trying to put some make up on my face but he didn't seem to care lol Then I did some chores and then I went to pick him up from school :) We actually stayed on the playground for like an hour because Jack wanted to watch his friends' football match...Things were ok until Alan said he wanted to go to the green to play football -___- Nancy went to a funeral and Ian was still at work so I had to make dinner plus these two guys came (..a plumber and an electrician) to fix something so I had to explain them what was wrong (...we didn't have hot water in the kitchen!) and where they could find the heater etc. Alan didn't care that I was busy and he kept saying he wanted to go to the green...When dinner was ready they didn't want to sit down and eat like normal people, they were running around the house looking for football shoes and clothes and every once in a while they came to kitchen and grabbed a few chips or a piece of fish -___- At one point I was reeeeaaally really mad but I'm a professional (lol) so I calmed myself down and took them to the green. Things were ok for a while but then Robbie (Jack's friend) got upset (don't ask me why...) and he wanted to go home so Alan was trying to make him stay...Jack and I kep playing football but then he tripped and fell...As usual he became very aggressive and rude...When he gets hurt or when someone makes fun of him he always acts that way...When I was trying to help him get up he kicked me (!!!!!) and told me to shut up (again...) T_T I know he never means it but it always makes me furious! lol I didn't feel like being strict and dramatic so I just went to sit on a bench lol Then Robbie and Alan got back and they started playing this "Daffodil game". It's like hide and seek but there's this huge flower-bed so they have to hide in the daffodils ))) Jack started playing with them and after a few minutes he came up to me and apologized! He hugged me and said he didn't mean it & was sorry o.O Awww lol He's always so cute when he knows I'm upset and wants to make me talk to him again lol Ohh well...I guess it wasn't a bad day after all :)

Saturday was a pretty good day! Debbie and I decided to go shopping :) I had to walk to a tram stop and then get to East Croydon...

I almost got lost on my way to the tram stop but somehow I managed to get to East Croydon and find Debbie lol Actually she found me! I was just standing there looking confused and lost xD We met on Interpals so this was the first time we saw each other in person ^_^ She's just as gorgeous in person as she is in her pictures! :D I thought we were going to stay in Croydon but Debbie had a different plan lol We got on a train and we went to central London! I don't know how but we got to Oxford Street which is the heart of London shopping ^^ 

We went to zillion shops and then we went to this huuuuge snobby shopping center called Selfridges! lol 

To be honest I didn't feel very comfortable around brands like Gucci or Dior...I was afraid to breathe or move lol I didn't want to break something and then pay for it for the rest of my life xD Debbie didn't seem so afraid lol She tried like every single perfume and she wanted to make me try on some shoes lol After that we went to Subway where I had the most delicious sandwich of my life! ))) Then we went to Primark which is probably the cheapest shop in the UK lol Finally a place where I felt comfortable xD I chose a few things I wanted to try on but this shop was sooo crowded and the queues were ridiculous so we decided to leave because we could barely breathe there ^^ Then we went to London bridge so I finally saw a few sights ^^

After that we went back to East Croydon :) We wanted to sit somewhere and have a cup of coffee or something but the only place that was still open was this weird looking pub -___- We decided to stay outside and sit on the stairs ^^ We talked for like an hour but then it started being too cold. We spent about 9 hours together and I have to say I had a great day! :D Unfortunately I had a terrible headache that day (probably because of being in shops where I could hardly breathe and also because of all the people - I hate big crowds -__-)...When I got home I went straight to bed! I didn't even get anything to eat lol I was dead... ^^

To be honest I don't really remember what we did on Monday lol I guess it was just a normal day...I walked Jack to school, I did some chores, then I picked Jack up from school...I'm pretty sure Alan made me mad because he always does ))) Oh we played board games after dinner :D Somehow I managed to win in a game about football lol and then they beat me in Domino! -___- ^^

Tuesday was...fluctating? lol It started off ok, then there was some drama but it all had a happy ending ^^ I took Jack to school, I did some chores, I drank a bit of Baileys and stole a chocolate croissant (...well I'm living here so I didn't have to steal it...I simply took it...lol)...Then I picked Jack up from school...On our way home we met Alan who was upset because he didn't have keys so he had to wait for us (...only like 10 minutes!) -___- Alan can be so moody sometimes, I hate that! ))) When we got home things got better :) We were just sitting on the sofa, watching wrestling, tickling each other...lol But then Alan wanted to go out and play football...I hate when he wants to go to "the green" to play football T_T It's not because I'm lazy or I don't like football but something bad always happens when we go there...This time there was some drama because of Jack...Alan wanted to play with me so it was us against Jack. I actually scored a goal (*Yay me!* lol) but Jack was like "That doesn't count!!!"...I just laughed and said "Yes it does! Yes it does!" but then Alan started yelling something at me...I didn't hear him so I kept walking towards him. Then I turn around and see that Jack is crying! I was like "WTF?!?" lol Alan yelled "Pass him the ball" so I did, then I smiled and said "Oh come oooon Jack, don't be so upset pretty boy." and he looked at me and said "Shut up! I'm going home!"...Seriously?! SERIOUSLY?! lol Alan was yelling something like "Why couldn't you just pass him the ball, this is all because of you!" and I was thinking "Is this a bad dream?" lol I picked up our things and said "Ok, let's go home then..." and Alan was like "What do you think you're doing?Put it back!"...I was trying to stay calm so I said "Jack said he wanted to go home!" and Alan answered "Noooo, he didn't!"...I said "He said it like 3 times Alan, I'm not deaf ok..." and he grabbed his jacket and said "I'm not going anywhere, I don't care!" T_T At that moment I got sooooo angry (I'm sure there was steam coming out of my ears! lol) so I said "First of all YOU CAN'T YELL AT ME LIKE THAT! I'm almost 8 years older than you so watch your mouth Alan!...YOU , Jack, should never ever tell me to shut up again!! You just can't talk to me like that!!!", I turned around and started walking home...Fortunately they decided to follow me and go home lol When we got to their house Jack looked guilty, he spread his arms, smiled and wanted to hug me. Inside I was like *AWWWWW* but I said "I'm not talking to you Jack, you just can't tell me to shut up!" and I went to my room...Then I heard Alan and Jack walk upstairs and Alan was like "What's going on?" and Jack answered "Vendy doesn't like me anymore because I told her to shut up but I didn't mean that but now she doesn't like me anymore..." o.O I wanted to run to that adorable thing and hug him lmao but I decided to stay in my room and wait ^^ Then Alan came to my room and started talking to me. I told him that if he wants something from me he can just say it, he doesn't have to yell or be rude...Then Jack came and sat behind me on my bed. I was still talking to Alan but then Jack hugged me and said he didn't mean it! *AWWWWW* lol That was the cutest thing I've ever seen lol He's such a sweetheart (...but he can be pretty evil sometimes!) ^^ After dinner we all ended up in my room doing silly things lol They were jumping on me, trying to tickle me, throwing stuffed animals at me lol We all got a little hurt a few times but it was a lot of fun xD I love these kids even tho they drive me crazy sometimes lol <3
